The Key to Success – A Well-Maintained Website

Regardless of how organised and prepared you are when designing your website, it can still suffer from errors and lack of functionality if not properly maintained. Elements like links, images and files can all be affected. Therefore, consider introducing a plan for routine maintenance and evaluation of your website if you have not done so already. Now that we have embarked on a new year, today is as good a time as any to start.

Create a Plan

One of the best ways to get started with a maintenance plan for your website is to take a look at your site map. A site map – if you don’t have one – is a framework for how the structure and navigation of your website is laid out. Use this resource as visualisation for each section of your website that needs to be carefully looked at. You should visit each page and manually check that every link, image, and section of text is still working and displaying as intended. Occasionally, and without realising it, your website files could become corrupt or deleted, causing things to display incorrectly, or in some cases not at all.

How an Organised Inbox can Improve Productivity

While you may try to spend most of you time ahead of your emails, it is easy for some “housekeeping” aspects of your mailbox to fall behind. Many workers struggle to keep up with their inbox on a daily basis – small business owners especially. But it is important to keep your inbox organised, just as it is important to keep your workspace organised, as it can drastically increase your productivity.

Of course, everyone’s working styles are different. What may seem cluttered to one business owner may be exactly how another business owner prefers to operate. So something as tedious as organising your email may not seem like a priority, but ask yourself: Have you ever needed to reference an email from days, weeks, months, or even years ago? How easy was it to find? How much time would it have saved to have things more organised?

.DENTIST and .REHAB – New TLDs from 1&1

Though these new top-level domains (TLDs) may not be particularly festive, last-minute shoppers can now immediately register their domain name under .DENTIST or .REHAB.

Dental offices can take advantage of this unique branding opportunity for their practice. Current and prospective patients will know immediately about the office just by seeing the domain name, and this new online solution also allows for dental practices to secure a shorter, more relevant Web address that may have been previously unavailable under traditional TLDs. For the first year, .DENTIST can be registered for £29.99.
